When someone starts watching muted videos on the mobile platform, the caption will automatically run downwards. Accessibility settings allow users to control the time it takes to show captions, even after increasing the volume.
Sources said that only captions will be seen in the videos after the launch of the feature. Currently, no caption errors can be reported, according to Verge. However, a Twitter spokesperson said that the platform is constantly working to improve accessibility features.
The automatic video caption feature has taken Twitter one step further. Criticism of the platform began last year when the audio tweet feature was introduced without the help of accessibility tools. After this incident, the platform has formed two accessibility teams.
