State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak and Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq laid the foundation stone of Khulna IT / Hi-Tech Park. It will be made in Tutpara of Khulna.
Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq thanked the ICT department for laying the foundation stone and said the IT park would help in building a technology-rich society.
State Minister for ICT Palak said the high-tech park would turn Khulna Industrial Area into a technology-based industrial zone. This will be the address of employment for the young generation of Khulna. Besides, it will make a significant contribution to building a smart Bangladesh from a labor-dependent economy to a knowledge-based, advanced economy.
The Hi-Tech Park is being constructed in Khulna on an area of about four acres at a cost of Tk.
Construction of the park will be completed within the next two years. The opening of the park will create training opportunities for one thousand youths every year and create employment opportunities for three thousand youths.
Among others present at the groundbreaking ceremony were MP Salahuddin Jewel, NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, Department of Information and Communication Technology and Asim Kumar Santa, Acting Assistant High Commissioner to India in Khulna.
