Micron will produce modern DRam memory chips

In the fourth quarter of the year, Micron will start production of more modern DRam memory chips at its factory in Hiroshima, Japan. The US-based multinational semiconductor manufacturer has factories in Japan as well as Taiwan. News gizmochayana. 


 Luo Donghui, divisional director of Micron Technology, said the Ethri chip plant would soon use Extreme Ultraviolet (UUV) or ultraviolet ray lithography equipment in the second half of the year. Preparations are being made for mass production of 1-gamma dirham awaiting market in 2024.

 Initially 1-beta derdam will be produced in Japan. Later it will be transferred to a factory in Taiwan. 1-alpha DRam is currently being produced in Taiwan. After IThome, Nikkei Asia quoted Chief Business Officer Sumit Sadana as saying that the company will start production of modern Diradam chips at its Hiroshima plant in the fourth quarter of this year.

 In an interview, Sudana said the company was working with the Japanese government and other business partners to start production of DRam in Japan. He did not say how much would be invested in the Hiroshima plant. However, such production activities require new equipment and clean rooms, he said.

 Last year, Micron Technology announced plans to invest 15 trillion over the next decade in memory production and research and development.
