MediaTek will bring millimeter wave processor

MediaTek has announced the introduction of 5G millimeter wave processor for smartphones in 2022. It may also have Wi-Fi 7 solution.

Recently, the company's chief executive officer (CEO) Kai Lexing said. He hopes that the income of the company will increase by 10-20 percent through this. Although insignificant compared to 2020, it is more than before.

MediaTek has made good progress in chip production for devices other than smartphones. The company recently announced the launch of the Pentanio 2000 series chips for the Companio and 8K 120Hz televisions for the Chromebook. The lion's share of the company's revenue comes from processors produced for smartphones. So it is clear that the Taiwanese chip maker wants to stay ahead of the competition with new innovations. As well as always striving to provide the latest technology.

Lexing said that for 2022, MediaTek has received strong support from its foundry, back-end packaging and substrate partners. With that, the marketing situation will return to normal next year. He said the global economy has changed dramatically in the aftermath of the Covid-19 epidemic. So MediaTek will have to deal with a number of issues including complex design process, 3 nanometer and 2 nanometer chip manufacturing technology.
