South Korea instructs App Store to cancel P2E (Play to earn) in Crypto games

The Game Management Committee (GMC), a branch of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, issued the instructions to app stores as part of South Korea's recent move to control technology giants. Earlier, they pressured Apple and Google to allow the use of third-party payment systems.

Although play to earn (P2E) games are illegal in South Korea, game developers have tried to attract young people through cryptocurrency. A GMC official told Coin Telegraph that gamers are earning ও 10,000 KRW or 8.40 US dollars a day in some pits. Paying in cryptocurrencies can leave teens with large stocks of unstable crypto. Therefore, the GMC officials think that the age limit should be fixed in the case of P2E Games.
